2022 was a massive year for Clash of Clans. The popular action strategy game received multiple large updates, introducing the Clan Capital and Town Hall 15, while also celebrating its 10th Clashiversary.

In October, Supercell released Town Hall 15 in what was the largest update ever for Clash of Clans. Town Hall 15 brought new Defenses, the Electro Titan Troop, the Battle Drill Siege Machine, the Recall Spell, new Hero Pets and more.

Between Town Hall 15 and the Clan Capital, which was released earlier in the year, there was a lot for Clash of Clans players to enjoy. As we turn the calendar page, what are some of the things we could see come to Clash of Clans?

We already know Supercell is working on a rework for Builder Base. Once a promising feature and alternative style of gameplay to the normal Clash battles, Builder Base has sort of fallen by the wayside. A few months ago, Supercell acknowledged the rework to Builder Base, providing some insight into its approach, including its biggest problems. This is going to be one of the bigger focuses of 2023, at least until it arrives in the first half of the year.

Beyond that, we’re not quite sure what else will be coming to Clash of Clans. We know there’s one big question players have though — will Town Hall 16 be released in 2023?

Based on the release cadence of Town Hall updates, the answer is probably no. Prior to TH15’s arrival, Supercell polished a blog post in which they explained that they aim for a length “of about 18 months between introducing new Town Hall levels.”

If we use this timeline as a guide, then the earliest we may see Town Hall 16 is sometime in 2024. 18 months from October’s Town Hall 15 release would be around April 2024, which aligns with the Spring update. For those keeping track, Town Hall 14 was released back in Spring 2021. Hopefully, Supercell has other surprises in store for Clash of Clans in 2023.
