Madden 22: Patrick Mahomes rounds out the 99 Club
EA revealed the fifth and final member of Madden 22’s 99 Club and it’s Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. His perfect 99 overall rating shouldn’t come as much of a surprise as Mahomes is considered by many to be the best quarterback in the league, although there’s an argument to be made that Aaron Rodgers is the best pure-passer.
In any case, it is Mahomes who gets the perfect 99 overall in Madden 22 at launch. Some other notable ratings include 97 throw power, 97 short accuracy, 93 mid accuracy, 94 deep accuracy and 98 throw on the run.
Mahomes is known for its unique blend of skills that make him dangers within and outside of the pocket. He’s a versatile playmaker that is revolutionizing the position. And he’s one of the big reasons the Chiefs have made it to the Super Bowl the past two seasons. Although they came up short last year, Mahomes has plenty of time left.
Madden 22 will launch with five players in the 99 Club, the prestigious group for those with a game-perfect 99 overall rating. The other four players with perfect overall ratings in Madden 22 at launch are Los Angeles Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, Los Angeles Rams defensive end Aaron Donald and Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams.
There are a few other players at the doorstep of the coveted club, including a pair of wide receivers in DeAndre Hopkins and Tyreek Hill with 98 overall ratings. Bill receiver Stefon Diggs is a 97 overall but it’s not unreasonable to think he could increase throughout the season if he has a repeat performance of last year.

Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett also possesses a 98 overall. While Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey dropped an overall point to 97, he’s still the top rated back in Madden 22 and could find himself in the 99 Club when its all said and done.
Perhaps the biggest snubs are Derrick Henry (96 OVR) and Aaron Rodgers (96 OVR). Henry ran for over 2,000 yards last season and Rodgers was the league MVP, but none of that was deemed worthy enough to warrant a 99 overall rating or even earn the top spot at their respective positions.
