I’m now three for three with my 99 Club predictions for Madden 22. EA revealed today the third member of the prestigious club, which is reserved for those with the highest possible rating of 99 overall, and it’s none other than Kansas City Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce.

The primary target for Patrick Mahomes, Kelce was among the league’s leaders in receptions (105), yards (1,416) and touchdowns (11). So his return to the 99 Club was basically a given.

Kelce’s 99 overall is aided by his 98 Awareness, 96 Catch, 93 Spectacular Catch, 91 Catch in Traffic and 90 Short Route Running. Reliable hands and solid route running, Kelce dominates the middle of the field and is a prime red zone target in Madden 22.

The next closest tight end to Kelce in Madden 22 is George Kittle. The 49ers star is rated 96 and is followed by Las Vegas Raiders’ Darren Waller, who is rated 93 overall.

Kelce joins Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams and Los Angeles Rams defensive lineman Aaron Donald in Madden 22’s 99 Club. All three players had a 99 overall last year too. And in Donald’s case, he’s been rated 99 for the past five Madden games.

It seems there are still two more members in the 99 Club to be revealed. Surprisingly, one of those spots will not be filled by a running back. EA revealed the top 10 running backs in Madden 22 and none of them will be rated a 99 overall. I had either Christian McCaffrey or Derrick Henry pegged as 99 Club members but surprisingly neither of them are.

With two spots left, you have to figure one will go to Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. As for the fifth and presumably final spot, I think it can be Stephen Gilmore, Xavien Howard or possibly Madden 22 co-cover athlete Tom Brady, who is coming off his seventh Super Bowl win.
