Following the leak, Rockstar has dropped the highly anticipated trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 — and after 10 years of waiting, it definitely lives up to expectations. Rather than waiting until tomorrow, Rockstar has decided to just share the official GTA 6 trailer for all to enjoy in full high quality.

The trailer confirms many of the details that have leaked over the past ew months, including the Vice City setting and that the game stars the first female playable protagonist in the series’ history. It also seemingly confirms a story inspired by Bonnie and Clyde.

Perhaps the most exciting part about the trailer — it confirms a release window.

Barring any delays, Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled to release in 2025. No platforms were announced, but given the quality of the graphics and gameplay, it’s likely to only be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X (or whatever versions of these consoles may exist in 2025).  It’s possible that GTA 6 could also launch for PC, although it’s worth noting that GTA 5 didn’t come to PC until about a year and a half after its initial release on PlayStation and Xbox.

Beyond release dates, there’s plenty to take away from the first GTA 6 trailer. The game looks to star Lucia, an ex-con who was locked up due to “bad luck.” We also see the game will star a male protagonist as some sort of Bonnie and Clyde-inspired duo.

As the game is set in Vice City — GTA’s fictional city inspired by Miami and Miami Beach — there are plenty of references and jokes to be had. From the iconic beaches to the dazzling nightclubs to some of the seedier areas, it looks to be a diverse city rife with exploration. We also see the Florida wetlands and references to “Florida Man.”

Interestingly, there also looks to be some sort of in-game social media platform that looks a lot like TikTok or Instagram.

There’s a lot to dissect in the trailer and we’ll be sure to update you with any details as they get announced.
