Check out the latest ratings for current players in the league when the roster update for NBA 2K21 arrives in November.

Although the rosters for NBA 2K21 won’t be updated until the next-gen versions of the game arrive in November, 2K has begun revealing some of the ratings for current players.

As we reported yesterday, LeBron James will be the highest-rated player in NBA 2K21 when the updated rosters release with a well-deserved 98 overall (78 3Pt, 91 DNK). After earning his fourth NBA Finals MVP, King James has proved that even at 35-years-old, he’s still the best.

Milwaukee Bucks’ power forward Giannis Antetokounmpo is a close second with a 97 overall rating (73 3PT, 91 DNK). While the Bucks may have underachieved in the playoffs, there’s no denying Antetokounmpo’s elite status in the league.

Rounding out the top ten players in NBA 2K21 is the usual crop of superstars:

  • Kawhi Leonard – 96 OVR
  • James Harden – 96 OVR
  • Kevin Durant – 96 OVR
  • Anthony Davis – 95 OVR
  • Damian Lillard – 95 OVR
  • Stephen Curry – 95 OVR
  • Luka Doncic – 94 OVR
  • Jimmy Butler – 93 OVR

More from NBA 2K

Honestly, it’s not too far off from how these players are rated in NBA 2K20. Jimmy Butler is probably the biggest surprise, although it’s certainly a warranted jump in overall given the Heat’s unbelievable playoff run. Despite coming up short in the Finals, Butler earned some major respect for his performance.

In addition to his 95 overall, Steph Curry is also the best 3-point shooter in the game with a perfect 99 rating. He’s joined by fellow teammate Klay Thompson (95 3PT) at the top of the three-point shot rankings.

The Boston Celtics trio of Jayson Tatum (90 OVR), Jaylen Brown (86 OVR) and Kemba Walker (86 OVR) return with respectable ratings. And Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker makes a jump with an 88 overall rating.

The second-tier players, who are still elite but not necessarily superstars, include:

  • Joel Embiid: 91 OVR
  • Jayson Tatum: 90 OVR
  • Nikola Jokic: 90 OVR
  • Karl-Anthony Towns: 90 OVR
  • Kyrie Irving: 90 OVR
  • Klay Thompson: 89 OVR
  • Donovan Mitchell: 88 OVR
  • Trae Young: 88 OVR
  • Chris Paul: 88 OVR
  • Paul George: 88 OVR
  • Russell Westbrook: 88 OVR

Again, nothing too surprising here. New Orleans Pelicans PF/C Zion Williamison, who tore up the league in his limited time as a rookie, will return with an 86 overall in his sophomore season. I suspect this rating will increase as the season goes on. You can view the full list of top 100 current players in NBA 2K21 here.

Remember, these ratings will go live when the roster update hits with the release of the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of NBA 2K21. As we’re still awaiting the start of the NBA free agency and NBA Draft, don’t expect any actual roster moves.
