Following yesterday’s more in-depth dev talk about the October 2019 update for Clash of Clans, Supercell has revealed more QoL improvements.

NOTE: The Clash of Clans October 2019 update is now live! Check out everything that’s new with the full patch notes.

The Clash of Clans October 2019 update won’t introduce a new Town Hall or any new troop or building levels — or really anything that’ll drastically alter the game’s balance. But, as the developer said, there’s a lot going on under the hood that we won’t know about until the next update hits later this year.

While that’s something exciting to look forward to, what about this one?

Over the weekend, Supercell provided our first look at what’s to come with the October 2019 update. With the removal of the global chat, we’re getting some brand new clan recruitment tools. We’re also getting some UI improvements, additional Quick Train slots and some quality of life changes.

All of this was detailed in the video, which you can see below.

In a follow-up post, Supercell revealed some additional Quality of Life improvements coming with the update.

We’re getting three new Season Challenge types. Two of them involve winning a certain amount of battles with a specific type of troops or spell, while the third is simply to win a certain number of War attacks. I’m not a huge fan of challenges that require you to use a specific troop or spell as I don’t like the developer forcing you to play something you’re either not a fan of or not familiar with, but I guess that’s kind of the point to these — to get you out of your comfort zone and experiment a bit.

A subtle, but appreciated change will put the Loot Cart in a permanent spot next to the Trader’s Tent so you won’t be forced to hunt for its location around your base after being attacked.

Remember how the June update — “Operation Blue Skies” — was focused on overhauling Legend League to lessen the wait time for finding an opponent? Well, this update features a minor tweak to Guard length, lessening it from three hours to two-and-a-half in Titan 2 and four hours to three hours in Titan 1 in an attempt to reduce the Clouds in Titan Leagues.

Legend League is also being adjusted. According to Supercell, “the layout cooldown calculation will now take into account how much matchmaking time is remaining and will adjust the cooldown accordingly, which should result in shorter cooldowns.”

Lastly, the Builder Base is also getting some love with this update. The Gold Mine and Elixir Collector will now store 24-hours worth of production instead of 12 hours. Again, it’s another change that should reduce some of the annoyances and hassles. There’s no real purpose for it to store 12-hours worth of production, except to make you visit it more frequently.

That’s all for now, but be sure to check back when the October update hits for the full patch notes. There’s no word yet on when the Clash of Clans update will arrive, but I assume it will be sometime before the Clash of Clans World Championship begins on October 25.
