NBA 2K21 player ratings update #2: LaMelo Ball jumps in overall
With the NBA season well underway and a decent sample size of games now in the books, 2K has released the second player ratings update for NBA 2K21.
Detroit Pistons forward Jarami Grant has been perhaps the biggest surprise this season and his strong start (25.4 points per game), has resulted in a massive +4 to his overall. He now sits at 84 overall, which makes him the 9th best small forward in NBA 2K21 so far. LeBron James and Kawhi Leonard are still firmly cemented at the top with a 97 and 96 overall, respectively.
Another big mover is Phoenix Suns small forward Mikal Bridges, who also increased by +4 to move his overall to 83. He’s right behind Grant at No. 10 on the list.
Rookie LaMelo Ball, the 3rd overall by the Charlotte Hornets, recently became the youngest player to ever record a triple-double and his solid start to the season resulted in him getting a +3 boost to his overall, which now sits at 81. Tyrese Haliburton, another impressive rookie drafted 12th overall by the Sacramento Kings, also jumped +3 to boost his overall to 80.

Meanwhile, at the top of the ratings charts, the league’s superstars have all dropped. LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo, James Harden and Anthony Davis all had their ratings decrease by 1. Meanwhile, Nikola Jokić got a 1-point boost to his rating.
Here’s what the top of the NBA 2K21 player ratings list looks like as of Update #2. Please note that this isn’t the full list of player ratings, only the ones who have changed. For example, L.A. Clippers small forward Kawhi Leonard is not listed as he still remains a 96 overall.
