League of Legends: Wild Rift calls for iOS testing sign ups
Is the League of Legends: Wild Rift iOS beta right around the corner?
With League of Legends: Wild Rift presumably still coming out later this year, Riot Games appears to be setting the stage for an upcoming test on iOS. The mobile version of Riot’s popular MOBA has previously hosted a regional Alpha for Android devices, but now the developer has called for iOS users.
“Calling all iOS users: want to help us get the Rift ready?” Riot asked in a tweet pointing users to a signup page. It’s not confirmation that an alpha or beta test is imminent, but it certainly seems to suggest an iOS test is coming sooner rather than later. Signing up simply required my email address, date of birth and preferred platform.
It’s been a while since Riot has given us an update on League of Legends: Wild Rift. The last major developer video came about three months ago, offering us a look at Wild Rift‘s mobile gameplay.

While the core gameplay is still similar to League of Legends on PC, some tweaks have been made to make it more user-friendly for mobile. Matches are shorter (about 15 to 20 minutes), the level cap has been reduced from 18 to 15, and the map has been scaled down to allow for more action and faster pacing. Additionally, certain champions have been tweaked to allow for more mobile-friendly gameplay using the dual-stick control scheme. Overall though, League of Legends: Wild Rift should look and play pretty similar to its PC counterpart.
While we still don’t have a launch date, Riot did release specs for Wild Rift on Android and iOS. The goal is to get it playable on as many devices as possible without sacrificing quality. It’s unclear if the specs have changed at all since last shared three months ago.
