Supercell revealed today the second Super Troop coming to Clash of Clans with the Spring 2020 update. The Sneaky Goblin should look pretty familiar.

The second of four Super Troops coming to Clash of Clans with the Spring 2020 update was revealed today. If you thought yesterday’s Super Barbarian looked familiar, just wait until you see the incoming Sneaky Goblin.

Like the Super Barbarian, which essentially feels like a clone of the Raged Barbarian from the Builder Base, the Sneaky Goblin feels like the brother of the Sneaky Archer. When the Sneaky Goblin is played, he will be invisible to defenses for the first five seconds thanks to his cloak ability.

Look familiar? That’s exactly the same ability as the Sneaky Archer. Once again, Supercell has simply copies another Builder Base mechanic over to the main village, which is incredibly disappointing.

That said, the Sneaky Goblin does sound very enticing. He’s got almost triple the hit points and DPS as the regular troop counterpart, making goblin rush attack strategies enticing. Supercell explains:

"In game terms, the Sneaky Goblin offers quite a different strategy than the normal Goblin or even the Sneaky Archers. Instead, this base-born bandit takes advantage of his prowling proficiency up close and personal. His extra damage to Resources makes him an ideal troop for clearing out those high HP Gold and Elixir Storages to funnel your attack. Or, his nimble legs can really be useful when you need to clear out those last few remaining Buildings."

The Sneaky Goblin will require you be Town Hall 11 with a level 7 Troop requirement. It will also take 50,000 Dark Elixir for the Super Upgrade to the Sneaky Goblin, which will last for seven days before a seven day cool down.

The Sneaky Goblin is the second of four planned Super Troops coming to Clash of Clans. Tomorrow’s preview was teased as a “big ‘un who will undoubtedly make a huge impact.” It sounds like we could be getting a Super Giant. As for the fourth, I still maintain that a previous preview image suggested a Super Valkyrie could be on the way, but we’ll have to wait and see.

As for the rest of the Spring 2020 update, Clash of Clans will be getting some quality of life improvementsupgrade cost reductions and new troop and building levels. The update will hopefully release early next week.
