The Super Barbarian was the first of the new Super Troops revealed for the upcoming Clash of Clans Spring 2020 update.

As promised, Supercell Games revealed the first of four Super Troop coming to Clash of Clans with the Spring 2020 update. For those who missed yesterday’s post, the incoming update will introduce a new type of unit, the Super Troop. Here’s how Supercell described it:

"Super Troops are temporarily powered-up versions of Troops in the Home Village. Each Super Troop will have a unique ability that is different from their normal counterpart."

Revealed today, the Super Barbarian is a “magnificently-maned master of mayhem.” Unfortunately, his actual reveal was a bit of a letdown. When deployed, the Super Barbarian will start out Raged for a few seconds, ranting increased speed and damage for the first 8 seconds.

"With more hit points, greater damage, faster movement, and a nifty skull belt, this hurricane of hurt is blind to anything except destroying the nearest target. The Super Barbarian is an excellent shock troop for rapid attacks."

In other words, he’s essentially the same exact unit as we’ve been playing with in the Builder Base. That realization was a bit of a disappointment as many players were expecting something brand new. Instead, we’re getting the same type of gameplay mechanic.

As previously revealed, creating a Super Barbarian will require you are Town Hall 11 with level 8 Barbarians. You’ll be able to upgrade to Super Barbarians at the barrel-shaped building (next to the Trader) for 50,000 Dark Elixir. Once you upgrade, you’ll have Super Barbarians available for seven days (with a seven day cool down after that).

The Super Barbarian will do 200 damage per second and has 1,100 hit points. He will cost 1,750 Elixir with a training time of 25 seconds.

The addition of Super Troops actually provides a new thing to spend your Dark Elixir on which is nice. I just wish we would have had a bit more creativity with the first Super Troop.

Thankfully, there are still three more to be revealed. One of the new Super Troops is believed to be a Valkyrie, but we’ll have to wait and see. Supercell will reveal the next three over the next few days. Assuming the next few days of Super Troop reveals are all that’s left, the Spring 2020 update should be out next week.
