Fortnite Rift Tour: Who is the mysterious performer?
Fortnite is no stranger to collaborations and the battle royale game has evolved to become a virtual tour space for musicians. Marshmello and Marshmello are some of the famed musicians who have put on performances inside of Fortnite, but now Epic is gearing up for a multi-date Rift Tour.
The Rift Tour will begin on Friday, August 6 and run through Sunday, August 8 with multiple showtimes scheduled to account for all the different regions. The event is being teased as “a musical experience unlike any other.”
So who is performing during the Rift Tour?
Well, Epic hasn’t announced it yet and urges fans to return on August 2 to find out more details. However, documents revealed through Epic’s court battle with Apple seem to reveal two possible candidates.
One of the documents dated from June 2020 listed scheduled performances for J Balvin in September, Ariana Grande in October and Lady Gaga in December. J Balvin ended up performing as part of a special Halloween concert in Fortnite last October. Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga have not yet put on their performances.

It’s speculated that this event will feature Ariana Grande which seems like a weird fit. It will be a spectacle, no doubt, but I just don’t see the overlap that a Fortnite player would be interested in Ariana Grande’s music, or Lady Gaga for that matter.
In any case, there are currently a series of in-game quests running in Fortnite that offer special rewards. The quests are pretty straightforward, things like interacting with Rift TOur posters, using an Alien Hologram Pad on top of the party UFO, using the Sve the Date in the RIft Tour tab and playing a match. The fourth quest is simply attending the RIft Tour, which will reward you with a special umbrella. It’s also possible that a special Ariana Grande skin and matching cosmetics will be available during the Rift Tour, much like what we saw with previous artist collaborations.
