Xbox Games with Gold: February 2021 free games announced

Microsoft has just announced which free games its users will be offered with the Xbox Games with Gold program for February 2021. Here is the game lineup.

With a little over a week remaining in the month of January, Microsoft has decided to announce what games Xbox One and Xbox Series X users will be able to download for free with their Xbox Games with Gold program, for the month of February. There are going to be a total of 5 games available for users to download during the month of February.

The Xbox Games with Gold titles that were announced are as follows:

Gears of War 5 (February 1st-28th)
Resident Evil (February 1st-28th)
Dandara: Trials of Fear Edition (February 16th to March 15th)
Indiana Jones and the Emperor’s Tomb (February 1st-15th)
Lost Planet 2 (February 16th-28th)

Lots of interesting titles that are being offered for February 2021 to download for free. Also noted that like always, you have to have an Xbox Live Gold Subscription in order to be eligible to download any of these for free.

Perhaps one of the biggest surprised to see make it onto this list is Gears of War 5. Gears of War 5 is a big title that Microsoft is offering up to download for free from February 1st through February 28th. Gears of War 5 is a game that will pass the time very quickly with a great, in-depth story and tons of hours of entertainment. If the incredible story isn’t enough for you, you can also take the battle to online multiplayer where you can enjoy even more Gears of War action with others.

Resident Evil will also be free from February 1st through February 28th. This is not a brand new Resident Evil title, but rather a remake of the original Resident Evil game from 1996. It is always nice to have older games added for a little bit of nostalgia. This game has a great new look and feel to it, with a major improvement in visuals.

Dandara: Trials of Fear Edition will also be available with the Xbox Games with Gold program as a stellar 2D platform video game. This game isn’t the most well know as it has been out since its release back in 2018. However, having it available to download for free might broadcast the game and potentially get it in the spotlight just a bit.

With the announcement of a brand new Indiana Jones video game that is currently in development, it is no surprise that Microsoft has decided to include Indiana Jones and the Emperor’s Tomb with Xbox Games with Gold. I can only assume that the reason why Microsoft has decided to do this is to get gamers ready for a new Indiana Jones game down the line sometime. After playing this game, it is only going to have gamers wanting a more well rounded and up to date Indiana Jones game. Don’t worry, you will get the chance to play a new Indiana Jones video game eventually, but in the meantime, you can play Indiana Jones and the Emperor’s Tomb to get your Indiana Jones fix.

That brings us to the last game that will be offered for free through the month of February which is Lost Planet 2. Lost Planet 2 is a throwback game that Microsoft has decided to add to Games with Gold. Lost Planet 2 was released more than a decade ago and overall didn’t get the best reviews. Regardless of if the game had gotten bad reviews, the game is free and who doesn’t like free things?
