Xbox Games with Gold: Here are the four free games for January 2021

Xbox is kicking off the New Year with four free Games with Gold titles coming to Xbox One and Xbox Series X in January 2021. Here are the free games.

Microsoft has announced its Games with Gold lineup for January 2021. Not much will be changing in the New Year as members will be treated to four games that are playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.

Arriving on January 1 is Little Nightmares, a whimsical tale that’ll “confront you with your childhood fears.” Little Nightmares is a puzzle-platformer horror adventure game that received praise for its atmosphere and tone. With a sequel planned for February 2021, Xbox gamers can familiarize themselves with the story. The game will be free through January 31.

Dead Rising will be free from January 16 through February 15. A remaster of the original, this game sees you play as photojournalist Frank West trapped in a shopping mall in the middle of a zombie outbreak. You have 72 hours to fight off the zombie horde and discover the reason behind the outbreak. With six different endings, there’s tons of replay value here, and a ton of fun to be had as just about anything can be used as a weapon.

For the classics, The King of Fighters XIII will be available from January 1 through January 15 and will be followed by Breakdown from January 16 through January 31. The King of Fighters XIII is an upgraded version of the original arcade classic and the final chapter of the “Ash Saga.” Breakdown is a classic action-adventure fighting game in which you play as Derrick Cole, a man trapped inside a mysterious laboratory who awakes to discover his extraordinary powers. Fight for survival against a corrupt military faction filled with super-human warriors.

For those new to Xbox, Games with Gold provides a fresh batch of free games each month. If you’re looking for the best deal in gaming right now, that’s probably Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Not only does it provide all the same benefits as Games with Gold, but you also get access to a library of over 100 games you can play on console, PC or Android devices. This includes older titles as well as every new Xbox first-party release. It also provides access to EA Play at no extra cost.
