The PS5 version of Warframe will arrive this Thursday, November 26, with cross-gen play, enhanced visuals and performance and more.

Add another game to the list of free-to-play games on PlayStation 5. This Thursday, November 26, Warframe will make the jump to PS5.

Warframe has come a long way since its release in 2013, now boasting 18 planets, three open worlds, 30 quests and 44 distinct Warframes to play with. With the PS5 (and eventually Xbox Series X), the game will evolve once again, taking advantage of the next-gen hardware.

Warframe on PS5 will run at up to 4K resolution and 60 frames per second. Load times will be “drastically” improved, with developer Digital Extremes referring to the new speed as a “seamless experience” jumping from world to world. Players will also experience dynamic lighting thanks to the new Enhanced Renderer. There is also new texture remasters for added detail and enhanced color.

Warframe‘s migration to PlayStation 5 doesn’t mean starting over. Your profile and character progress will be transferred and you’ll still be able to play with friends who haven’t made the next-gen jump yet thanks to cross-play support. PS4 and PS5 players will be able to play together and you’ll even beable to jump back and forth between generations if for some reason you still want to play on PS4. Details regarding Xbox One Series X cross-gen play will be shared in the future.

Warframe on PS5 will also make use of the console’s new features such as Progress Activities which will show how close you are to earning a Trophy. Challenge Activities, the first of which will be a Sanctuary Onslaught Challenge, will also send you right into the action without having to load into the game first. Additionally, the DualSense controller’s Adaptive Triggers will respond to every shot fired. Further down the road, Digital Extremes will aim to make use of the Haptic technology to create controller vibration that matches the environment.

You can get a sense for what this will feel like by booting up Astro’s Playroom, the free-to-play game that came pre-installed on your PS5.

In celebration of Warframe’s PS5 launch, you can download the exclusive Warframe PlayStation Plus Booster Pack which contains a new Sedai Obsidian Syandana — a design inspired by the new DualSense Controller — an Experience Booster, in-game Currency Booster, Credits and Premium Credits. Warframe will officially release on PlayStation 5 this Thursday, November 26, with an Xbox Series X launch date to follow.
