Genshin Impact’s first major update, Version 1.1, is slated to arrive in November and bring many changes requested by the community.

MiHoYO’s free-to-play action RPG Genshin Impact took the world by surprise when it launch for PlayStation 4, mobile and PC in September. Looking to keep the momentum, as a live-service game, we can expect regularly occurring updates that introduce new content and quality of life improvements.

According to MiHoYo, the goal is to have a major update every six weeks and the first one, Version 1.1, is slated to arrive on November 11. The roadmap actually also includes Version 1.2 on December 23 all the way through Version 1.3 in February 2021. But for now, let’s focus on Version 1.1, which will take place during the Unreconciled Stars event.

MiHoYo hasn’t fully detailed the contents of Version 1.1 but in a recent blog post, discussed some of the player feedback that will be addressed in the update.

For starters, the Original Resin system is getting adjusted. One of the biggest complaints against Genshin Impact is its Original Resin system. Original Resin is essentially the game’s energy resource and is required to receive rewards for pretty much any major objective you complete.

The current max limit for Original Resin you can store is 120, but that will be increased to 160 with Version 1.1. Unfortunately, the refresh rate for Original Resin will stay the same meaning you’ll be able to store more, but you’ll also have to wait longer to reach that capacity.

Version 1.1 will also decrease the Original Resin requirement in Battle Pass Weekly Missions from 1,600 to 1,200, making it a lot more achievable.

Version 1.1 will also bring some quality of life improvements including new filters for artifacts based on their basic attributes, an item that will allow you to set your own teleport waypoints for areas you visit frequently, and an easier way to see which character has equipped artifacts and weapons. Version 1.1 will also set the stage for key bindings/controller setup functionality. It sounds like we’ll have to wait for a later version for it to be fully implemented.

In addition to the noted quality of life improvements, leaked patch notes for Version 1.1 reveal an incoming reputation system. According to the leak, each region will have its own reputation level that you can increase by exploring and completing side quests in that region. There are also new “bounties” and “requests” for each region. As you increase your reputation within that region, you’ll earn special rewards, including profile cards, recipes and more.

Four new characters, including two five stars, are coming as well:

  • Zhongli: 5-star, Geo polearm user
  • Childe: 5-star, Hydro bow user
  • Xinyan: 4-star, Pyro claymore user
  • Diona: 4-star, Cryo bow user
