TFT Set 4, Teamfight Tactics: Fates, goes live September 16.

Following last week’s teaser, Riot Games has officially announced the next set for Teamfight Tactics. TFT: Fates, as Set 4 is being called, will arrive with Patch 10.19.

According to the League of Legends patch calendar, patch 10.19 is scheduled to go live on September 16.

Riot shared some official concept art for Teamfight Tactics: Fates, reinforcing the whimsical theme that was previously teased. The teaser announcement specifically made mention of Dragons, Magic, Spirits and Storms, possibly alluding to the various new Origins and Classes.

In an accompanying blog post, Riot mentions a “secret realm” filled with “deep magic, where stars plop down from the sky and the land takes on life of its own.” In the original developer road map, Riot made mention of Arena skins that react to the state of your game. The mention of landing take on life of its own seems to allude to this functionality and certainly sounds exciting.

The post also mentions dragons with the “power of storm and shadow.” Again, this could be in reference to specific traits or possibly the overarching theme of the set.

Riot didn’t get into specifics regarding the details of TFT: Fates but we can expect the usual when it comes to the update. Expect a new pool of champions — comprised of new and returning ones — equipped with all-new Origins and Classes that offer new mechanics on the auto-battler. New items and combinations will also likely be introduced.

In addition to the new gameplay mechanics, Teamfight Tactics: Fates will almost certainly come with new cosmetics. The Fates Pass will probably offer a free track as well as a paid version (Fates Pass+) with themed Little Legends, Arena Skins, Booms and more. Riot also mentioned a new type of currency, Starshards, that can be purchased directly or collected through the Pass+. Starshards players to upgrade Little Legends directly rather than hoping to get the ones they want from a blind box.
