Don’t expect tons PS5 news in Sony’s State of Play stream this week on August 6, as the stream will focus on PS4 and PS VR.

Sony’s State of Play stream returns this week on Thursday, August 6 at 1pm PT / 4pm ET. This week’s State of Play will be 40+ minutes long. That’s quite the departure from the norm, as the typical State of Play runs from 10 to 25 minutes. So what’s going to fill that much time in the August 6 State of Play?

PS4 and PS VR, mainly. Stated on the PlayStation Blog, this stream will have a focus on third-party games coming to the PS4 and PS VR. The updates on these games will include new gameplay footage, so don’t expect a CGI trailer fest. None of the information presented in the State of Play this week will be about PlayStation Studios, hardware, preorders or release date and pricing for the PS5.

That said, there will be a few PS5 game updates for games that were shown in June’s PS5 showcase. These games are third-party and indie titles, but at this point I’ll take anything that’s related to the PS5.

As a refresher, here were the indie games and third-party games shown at June’s PS5 showcase, so it’s any of these PlayStation 5 games that we’ll receive an update on:

dark. Next. Sony details which PS4 peripherals will work on the PS5

Personally, I wouldn’t mind some updates on Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Godfall, Project Athia and Ghostwire: Tokyo, but we’ll see what Sony has in store. This State of Play is a good reminder that Sony will keep supporting the PS4 with new games and updates after the launch of the PlayStation 5.

Again, you can watch Sony’s State of Play episode on Thursday, August 6 at 1pm PT, 4pm ET on Twitch and YouTube.
