PS5 console revealed alongside two dozen games

Two dozen games were announced for the PS5.

Sony’s PS5 reveal event featured tons of new game announcements and reveals in a lineup that appeals to all sorts of gamers. The event featured such titles as Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales, Gran Turismo 7 and Horizon Forbidden West. But there was plenty more to be excited about.

An enhanced and expanded version of Grand Theft Auto V is coming to PS5 with a new standalone version of Grand Theft Auto Online that will be free to all PS5 owners within the first three months of the title’s launch in 2021.

Once the entitlement is claimed, the game is yours to keep. With a PlayStation Plus membership, PS5 owners will be able to play GTA Online as much as they want. Finally, starting today, everyone who owns GTA V on PS4 will get GTA$1,000,000 every month until the PS5 version of the game launches in 2021.

As for the PlayStation 5 console, it features a two-tone design to match the previously revealed DualSense controller. It’s the first time ever a PlayStation console will feature two colors. Two models will also be available at launch: a standard model with an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive, and a digital model without a disc drive. Pricing was not announced.

Some of the first-party PlayStation Studios exclusives included Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales (Insomniac Games), Gran Turismo 7 (Polyphony Digital), and Horizon Forbidden West (Guerrilla Games). The cult classic Demon’s Souls was a surprising reveal and the beloved LittleBigPlanet franchise will be getting a new installment with Sackboy A Big Adventure. The iconic duo of Ratchet & Clank will also be back in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.

The event also featured teasers for NBA 2K21 (2K, Visual Concepts) and Resident Evil Village (Capcom). There are also some new IP launchin gon PS5 as console exclusives, such as DEATHLOOP from Bethesda and Project Athia (a working title) from Square Enix/Luminous Productions.

The reveal also highlighted new PS5 accessors, including the PULSE 3D wireless headset, an HD Camera, Media Remote and DualSense Charging Station. Here are the details:
