PS Plus games for August headlined by Modern Warfare 2 Remastered
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered and Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout are the free PS Plus games for August.
Sony has announced the free games for PS Plus members for the month of August. And although there are still a few days left to go in July, one of them will be arriving today.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered will be made free for PlayStation Plus members on July 28. I have no clue why Sony isn’t waiting for the traditional first Tuesday of the month; maybe it has something to do with Activision perhaps readying to reveal this year’s new Call of Duty game and they are using this as a way to get people hyped?
In any case, this remaster of the single-player campaign from the 2009 blockbuster will be free tomorrow, completely remastered for the PlayStation 4.

Assuming you’ve played 2019’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, the Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered edition is the natural next step although there’s the possibility that Activision could do something similar as 2019 and release a sort of rebooted version of this game as well. Remember, they released Modern Warfare Remastered in 2016 before coming out with 2019’s Modern Warfare reboot.
The second free game for August is Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout and this will be arriving on August 4. Imagine Super Mario Party minigames but with 60-person online multiplayer Colorful and crazy, this game seems like nonsensical fun.
Honestly, it’s not a bad month for PlayStation Plus. Obviously Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered is the highlight but sometimes a game like Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is a nice change of pace. If anything, it could provide a bit of entertainment if you run out of games to play during this whole coronavirus pandemic.
As always, you’ll have until the first Tuesday of August to download July’s free PS Plus offerings. NBA 2K20, Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration and Erica will remain free for members until Monday, August 3. There’s also the free PS4 theme celebrating the last decade of PS Plus available.
