Clash of Clans: Everything we know about the Spring 2020 update
The Clash of Clans Spring 2020 update is almost here. Check out a full recap of everything new that has been announced for it thus far.
After two weeks of sneak peeks, it feels like the Clash of Clans Spring 2020 update is right around the corner. Presumably releasing this upcoming week, Supercell’s Sunday forum post was a recap of everything that has been announced for the update thus far.
Super Troops
The most talked about new addition to Clash of Clans are Super Troops, temporarily powered-up versions of regular Troop in the Home Village. There are four Super Troops coming to Clash of Clans with this update, each with a different unique ability from their normal counterpart. The four Super Troops are:
You can only have one Super Troop active at a time and the upgrade lasts for seven days. There is a Dark Elixir cost associated with upgrading each time and there is a seven day cool down after you use the Super Troop, meaning you won’t be able to use the same one two times in a row.
Although you can only train one Super Troop at at time, Clan Castle donations means other clan members are able to donate their Super Troops to you for battle. So if you are using Super Barbarians and they are using Super Giants, they can donate theirs to you and you will have both when attacking.
Although only four Super Troops are coming with the Spring 2020 update, Supercell did say they plan to introduce more with future updates. That’s something to look forward to down the line.
Builder Base Changes
For the most part, the changes coming to Builder Base are pretty good. Troop training Battle Machine healing times are being removed meaning you can attack back-to-back-to-back without having to wait. The Clock Tower times are also being tweaked.
Perhaps the most controversial change coming to Builder Base is the addition of a tiebreaker. You can read more about that in the link below.
New Troop/Building levels, reduced upgrade prices and QoL improvements
While Super Troops are the big draw with this update, Supercell is reducing the upgrade costs for a number of buildings, troop, spells and traps. Certain troops and buildings are getting new levels as well.
The update will also bring some quality of life improvements, checking off many long-requested player features. Changes are being made to Clan Castle troops and donations, Clan Games rewards and other areas, but one of the most exciting changes is to Clan War Leagues. In the Champions leagues, the CWL screen will be inaccessible to any members without a role, meaning enemy infiltrating or spying will be limited.
Release?
Supercell didn’t announce when the Spring 2020 update will release exactly, but you figure it will arrive sometime this coming week. The dev update confirmed these are most of the major changes coming, so I don’t thing we’re getting any more sneak peeks. That said, the patch notes will have more details and specifics, so we’ll be sure to share those when released as well.
