GameStop Black Friday 2019: PS4, Xbox One and Switch gaming deals revealed
GameStop has announced its Black Friday 2019 discounts for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch consoles and games.
GameStop may not be doing too well financially, but for the time being, it’s an optimal retailer to find some of the best gaming deals this holiday season. The retailer was a little late to the party but finally released its Black Friday 2019 ad.
The ad features many of the sales and discounts we’ve seen offered at other retailers, such as Target and Best Buy, but seems to have a much larger selection of games. After all, this is what they do.
GameStop’s Black Friday sale begins in stores on Thursday, November 28 at 3:00 p.m. ET However, if you prefer to shop at home, the online sale begins the night before on Wednesday at 9:00 p.m. ET.
So what kind of deals can you expect to find this year? Below are some of the highlights.
Xbox, PlayStation & Switch Consoles
PlayStation 4
For the PS4, it’s the usual; the PlayStation 4 1TB 3 Game Bundle with God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition and The Last of Us Remastered. This will be available $199.99 which is the same price as everywhere else.
There’s also a PS4 Pro 1TB Glacial White System for $299.99, exclusive only to GameStop. This will be a $100 savings and also come with a $25 gift coupon.
For VR fans, GameStop is also offering the PlayStation VR Blood & Truth and Everybody’s Golf VR Bundle for $249.99 and the PlayStation VR 5 Game Bundle for $199.99. Again, both of these are standard for this year.
Xbox One
For Xbox One, you can save up to $150 on any new system. There are multiple bundles to choose from which, again, seem to be the standard offered at all retailers this year.
Xbox One S 1TB Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order Bundle – $199.99
Xbox One S 1TB All Digital Edition Console Bundle with Fortnite Battle Royale, Minecraft and Sea of Thieves – $149.99
GameStop also has an exclusive Limited Edition Xbox One X 1TB NBA 2K20 Console Bundle for $349.99. It features a specially designed Xbox One along with a copy of this year’s NBA 2K title.
Nintendo Switch
The Nintendo Switch Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Bundle is the highlight this year for $299.99. However, GameStop is throwing in a $25 gift card with any Switch purchase. This includes the Nintendo Switch Lite priced at $199.99
If you don’t want to buy a new console, there is also the option to go with a certified pre-owned one. A refurbished or pre-owned Nintendo Switch console will be priced at $249.99, while a refurbished or pre-owned Xbox One will be available for just $99.99.
Games
There are far, far too many games listed in the ad to name them all. The highlight, available Thursday through Saturday only, is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare which will be priced at just $38. Most retailers will be selling it for this price on Black Friday, but it’ll almost certainly go quickly as it is a doorbuster just about everywhere.
Other GameStop doorbusters featured are:
- Borderlands 3 ($30)
- Ghost Recon: Breakpoint ($28)
- NBA 2K20 ($28)
- Madden NFL 20 ($28)
- FIFA 20 ($28)

Basically, just about every game you can think of will be discounted in some fashion up to 50 percent off. Gears 5, Red Dead Redemption 2, MediEvil and Catherine: Full Body will be among the games available for $29.99. The recently released Need for Speed: Heat is already going to be discounted to $39.99.
Then there’s a whole bunch of games available for just $19.99 including Marvel’s Spider-Man Game of the Year Edition, Resident Evil 2, Kingdom Hearts 3, Concrete Genie and more. While the ad shows these sale prices for specific consoles, I believe — like everywhere else — these discounted prices will apply across all platforms.
With GameStop’s reveal, just about all the major gaming retailers have now announced their Black Friday plans. We’ll be posting a round-up with where you can find all the best Black Friday deals for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch early next week.
