After just one day, the viral Palworld Pokémon mod was removed from the game by a hard-hitting Nintendo DMCA.

By now, you have either seen or played Palworld, the new game dominating the charts. As the indie title continues to break records on Steam, more and more fans are running to check out the game branded as "Pokémon with guns." One creator took the tagline a step further and created a Pokémon mod that brought fan-favorite faces, including Ash Ketchum, to Palworld. The teaser garnered over 11 million views on X in just 24 hours, prompting a swift reaction from Nintendo.

Palworld Pokémon Mod Explained

Before Nintendo got involved, content creator, ToastedShoes designed and teased a Pokémon mod that brings iconic characters, Ash Ketchum and Pikachu, to the open-world RPG. In his latest video, the Australian YouTuber showed off his impressive creation as Ash finds and captures Pikachu before he puts him to work.

The hype of the teaser and the full gameplay reveal left thousands searching for the mod, but unfortunately, it does not look like fans can download it anytime soon.

The viral Palworld Pokémon mod was removed before it could even launch by a swift Nintendo DMCA. Although the full length YouTube video remains online, the short teaser on X has been hit with a copyright claim that took down the video.

ToastedShoes posted the DMCA screenshot on X and wrote, "Nintendo has come for me, please leave me in your thoughts and prayers."

Although the content creator originally took a playful stance on the entire situation, he then posted about the legal consequences of his mod, forcing him to withhold its release to the general public.

He posted on X, "I've been getting a large influx of people asking where they can get the mod etc. We want to release it for free to everyone, however due to Nintendo sending a DMCA over the last tweet we want to tread lightly for the time being."

As of now, it does not look like Ash, Pikachu, and more familiar faces from the Pokémon universe are hitting Palworld.
