New Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One video game releases for January 2024
2023 was a mixed bag for Xbox in terms of exclusives. There was, of course, the launch of Starfield, one of the year's most anticipated games, and a few surprises, like Hi-Fi Rush, there weren't quite as many exclusives as one would hope.
Microsoft has spent years acquiring studios in hopes of building its first-party studio portfolio and 2023 marked one of the company's biggest acquisitions to date: Activision Blizzard. After a contentious legal battle, Microsoft finally closed the deal to acquire the developer/publisher.
2024 has some solid games lined up for Xbox, including Avowed and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl, but neither of these have release dates yet. As we prepare to turn the calendar page, we're taking a look at the first batch of games set to arrive on Xbox consoles in January 2024.
There isn't much, which is pretty norm for the industry after the holiday season, but there are a few games worth checking out next month. If you're a fan of fighting games, then we've got Tekken 8 coming at the end of the month. The latest installment in the long running fighting series continues the tragic saga of the Mishima bloodline and features 32 redesigned fighters with a revamped fighting system referred to as the "Heat" system, along with improved graphics that make use of the next-generation of consoles.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is set to arrive on January 18 and takes us to a mythological Persian world where you'll manipulate time and space in this stylish action-adventure platformer.
