There are eight different weapon types in Dead Island 2, including many returning weapons from the first game, as well as lots of new variants. But you don't need to get them all, as this tier list guide will show you only the best weapons in the game.
S-Tier weapons in Dead Island 2
Party Starter
Nothing works better in Dead Island 2 than a blunt weapon that sets zombies on fire. That's exactly what Party Starter does when you smash zombies with these legendary brass knuckles. It also allows you to charge your heavy attacks faster than any other blunt weapon in the game, dealing significant damage to zombies. If you like the sound of it, then you can get Party Starter after completing the "Drunk and Disorderly" quest.
Peggy
If you don't like to approach zombies too close, then consider this unique rifle that has incredibly high damage, enough to insta-kill zombies. However, do consider its relatively limited magazine capacity, which can hold only up to six bullets at once. If that doesn't deter you, then you'll be able to get this weapon after finishing the "Creature Comforts" quest, which is given by Curtis Sinclair in the Bel Air territory.
Katana
Anyone who played the first Dead Island game should remember just how deadly a katana weapon was. Well, it made a comeback in the sequel, and it's just as fun as before. There are three different variants of this weapon in Dead Island 2, but the best one is definitely the Casimir. It has the highest speed and damage, easily cutting off zombie limbs and dealing critical damage.
A-Tier weapons in Dead Island 2
Emma's Wrath
High speed of attack doesn't always guarantee efficiency in combat. That's where Emma's Wrath, a powerful sledgehammer, comes into play with its absolutely massive damage. The best part about Emma's Wrath is that it's not a mere melee weapon, but one that can be combined with a shotgun when enhanced with the Overkill perk. This weapon can be obtained only if you succesfully finish the "Hollywood Ending" quest.
Bodycount
The Bodycount assault rifle can definitely contend with the argument that Dead Island 2 is not a first-person shooter, easily turning a zombie survival game into some kind of spec ops. It comes with a very effective Ranged Puncturator mod, which adds bleeding damage to its already powerful and precise shots. If you want it, you can get it during the "REDACTED" quest, given by the Slayers at Venice Beach.
The One
Carrying a claymore in Dead Island 2 is a cheeky way to show that you want to kill zombies with style. Fortunately, The One isn't just stylish but also a great melee weapon with an inherent physical damage boost. Note that The One is based on the sword of the main antagonist in the "Highlander" movie. Note that this weapon becomes available only after you complete the main story.
B-Tier weapons in Dead Island 2
Dead Islands
Although Dead Islands is a great mace, it doesn't have as much force as other weapons listed above, but it's still one of the best blunt choices in the game. You'd be smart to pick it up during the "Path of the Unworthy" quest and use it against Apex zombies, as this weapon was designed to deal maximum damage to them.
Blood Rage
There's a certain stigma against using one-handed melee weapons in Dead Island 2, but if you ever decide to use one, then it should be Blood Rage. This powerful combat knife inflicts significant bleeding on zombies, which can help you out when you need to quickly deal with a large number of enemies that surround you. To get this weapon, you must go to The Pier and complete the "Fool's Gold" quest there.
Skull Driver
For the final weapon on this list, let's have some fun. Skull Driver is basically a golf club that may not have the highest of stats, but it's immensely fun to use, smashing zombies in the head. If you wish to get one, then be sure to find and speak to Dougie inside the Serling Hotel, who will gladly sell you this weapon.
