With the Nintendo Switch becoming a hand-held favorite among many gamers, it’s been an extremely popular gaming console for the last six years. Since its 2017 launch, the Switch has experienced a variety of changes and improvements, including a longer battery life, a more mobile Lite version, and a wider OLED visual format.

Should you buy a Nintendo Switch in 2023?

While the Nintendo Switch is more than six years old and there are talks of a “Switch Pro” model for the last several years, the Switch is still a solid purchase for any gamer in 2023.

With the release of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom in 2023, it’s evident that this backpack-sized console exceeds in seamless handheld-playing features. With upcoming Black Friday sales, gamers can experience plenty of creative Nintendo-exclusive games with discounted prices and special holiday bundles.

Nintendo has been on a roll with the latest releases of Super Mario RPG and Mario Kart 8’s final DLC. Remakes of beloved Mario games are even on the horizon in 2024 with the anticipated release of Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door.

Along with these remastered versions and additional DLC to the Mario franchise, other Nintendo-exclusive games prove that the Switch is still an exciting console to play for this year. The second part of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s DLC: The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero will be available to play on Dec. 14, 2023, generating excitement from Pokemon and Nintendo fans with new game content.
