It’s a bit melancholy to state that this is more than likely the last bit of DLC support that we’re going to get but man, what a way to go out. The final DLC of the Mario Kart 8 Booster Pack is here and it has a lot more than just tracks. Sure it still gives you eight tracks and the final eight are…alright and you do get the best Bowser stage and yet another Rainbow road, but there’s more.

If you’re curious though here’s the tracks you get:

Acorn Cup

  • Rome Avanti (Mario Kart Tour)
  • DK Mountain (Mario Kart: Double Dash)
  • Daisy Circuit (Mario Kart Wii)
  • Piranha Plant Cove (Mario Kart Tour)

Spiny Cup

  • Madrid Drive (Mario Kart Tour)
  • Rosalina’s Ice World (Mario Kart 7)
  • Bowser’s Castle 3 (Super Mario Kart)
  • Rainbow Road (Mario Kart Wii)

In addition though lets look at what else you get.

More Amiibo Support?

Yes Virginia, apparently Nintendo hasn’t COMPLETELY forgotten about the small amazing statues and they’ve added a tiny bit more. And by tiny bit I mean they’ve added a new outfit that you get for scanning a Daisy amiibo that, is honestly fantastic looking. It has a metal plate on the front of it that looks like her bangs, features her signature color scheme and has a logo on the back for the “Princess Orange” racing team.

18 New Mii Outfits in total!

And the unlockable Daisy costume is just one of 18 new Mii outfits they added. Daisy’s is the only one that requires an Amiibo, the rest of them are unlocked automatically. Here’s a quick showcase of all of them. Ignore my Mii’s five o’clock shadow.

One of my personal favorite’s is the castle. Whenever you do a trick, the little red M flag pops up from the top for a quick second. It’s a cute little touch.

Brand new characters!

Oh yeah, they also added four more playable characters that AREN’T Miis.

We got Peachette making her Mario Kart debut. Nice to see the character be in more than one game.

We got us Diddy Kong, finally tying the bridge between Diddy Kong racing and Mario Kart racing.

We got us a Pauline. I don’t know what to say here, I don’t know who that’s for.

And finally we got us Funky Kong. Personally, I would have loved to have the white sportscoats Swanky Kong from the Mario movie, but it is nice to finally get a new giant character because there’s frankly too many little guys.

So yeah, they’re all out now if you have the Booster Pass or if you did what I did and get tricked into paying for both Nintendo’s online service PLUS the Booster Pass thinking you were going to be getting more stuff than just Mario Kart and Animal Crossing things.

Oh, they also added a Jukebox where you can listen to the in game music which seems silly until you hear what they did to the music for Bowser’s Castle 3.

Song slaps harder than my parents.
