Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 featured some of the franchise’s most iconic and beloved maps. It appears that this is being recognized and it has been confirmed that all 16 classic Modern Warfare 2 maps will be returning to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III on day 1. This news comes after the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III reveal that took place in Warzone on August 17.

It is great that we are soon going to see some of the most iconic maps once again in a modern Call of Duty video game. There have been rumors about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 maps returning, and this puts all of those rumors to rest.

Of course, these returning maps are going to be graphically upgraded to make them feel a lot more modernized, but the overall maps will be the same.

Map voting will also be a thing in Modern Warfare III. Meaning that if there is a fan favorite map that everyone loves to play, it will most likely be the map that you are going to play on in multiplayer. Map voting is one of the fairest ways to choose a map for multiplayer because it allows all of the players in the lobby to cast a vote to decide which map will be played. Normally map voting consists of two maps and sometimes a random option. Different Call of Duty games have gone about it in different ways, so it will be interesting to see how Modern Warfare III goes about map voting.

Are there any other maps you are hoping to make an appearance in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III? The Call of Duty franchise loves bringing back old maps for nostalgia purposes, so there is a good chance this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to seeing old time classic maps return.
