NBA 2K24: Release date, platforms, and editions

Yesterday, 2K revealed that the late Kobe Bryant, an NBA legend and icon for the sport, will grace the cover of two different editions of this year’s NBA 2K24. At the time, we figured the NBA 2K24 Kobe Bryant Edition and the Black Mamba Edition were going to be the two special editions of the game, perhaps priced a bit more expensive with a few extra features. As it turns out, the Kobe Bryant Edition will serve as a the standard edition of this year’s game with Kobe Bryant as the cover athlete.

2K reveal the full SKU details for NBA 2K24, including the release date, platforms, and all the different editions that will be available. We also got some top-level details of some of the features coming our way this year, including the new Mamba Moments.

NBA 2K24 release date and platforms

NBA 2K24 will be released worldwide on September 8. It will be available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC, depending on the edition you purchase. NBA 2K24 will support crossplay compatibility for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

NBA 2K24 25th Anniversary Edition

Newly revealed today is is the 25th Anniversary Edition. This new, limited availability edition is priced at $149.99 and will be available through September 10, 2023. It will be available for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC and includes the following:

NBA 2K24 pricing

NBA 2K24 Kobe Bryant Edition

The previously revealed Kobe Bryan Edition will serve as this year’s standard edition of the game. It will be priced at $59.99 on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC and $69.99 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

NBA 2K24 Black Mamba Edition

This will cost $99.99 and will be available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. It includes 100K Virtual Currency and MyTEAM Content.

Both the Black Mamba Edition and 25th Anniversary Edition will include Dual-gen access for the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One platforms.

Also available exclusively in the United States and Canada is a limited version of the WNBA Edition. This GameStop exclusive features WNBA All-Star and New York Liberty guard, Sabrina Ionescu, as this year’s cover star.
