NBA 2K24: ProPLAY, Mamba Moments and other features

2K shared the full SKU details for NBA 2K24, revealing the different editions of this year’s game along with a general overview of new gameplay features and details. NBA legend Kobe Bryant will be the cover athlete for this year’s game, appearing on both the Kobe Bryant Edition ($59.99/$69.99) and Black Mamba Edition ($99.99).

Bryant’s return to the cover of the NBA 2K series will be accompanied with a special mode that highlights some of his most memorable moments on the court. As noted in the press release:

"In honor of Kobe returning to the NBA 2K cover, players can celebrate his legacy and channel their inner-Mamba mentality in the brand-new Mamba Moments mode."

Similar to the Jordan Challenges in NBA 2K23, Mamba Moments will put players into the shoes of one of the greatest NBA superstars of all-time. Players will have the chance to recreate some of Kobe’s most captivating performances and experience some of his most memorable moments of his journey from a young phenom to one of the greatest players of all time. From his 81-point game to his four straight games scoring at least 50 points, there’s no shortage of memorable moments from Kobe’s illustrious 20-year career in the NBA.

In addition to Mamba Moments, another big feature in this year’s game is the introduction of ProPlay. Available only the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game, this new technology “directly translates NBA footage into gameplay and delivers animations and movements via on-court NBA action.” Another features exclusive to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S is crossplay support.
