Dead Island 2: How to unlock the Bodycount Legendary Assault Rifle

The Assault Rifles in Dead Island 2 do a great job at eliminating hordes of zombies very easily and from long distance. The Bodycount Legendary Assault Rifle is not only considered the best Assault Rifles in Dead Island 2, but the best weapon in the entire game. Unlocking the Bodycount shouldn’t be too much of a hassle, but much like all the other Legendary weapons in Dead Island 2, you will need to complete a Side Quest in order to unlock it.

How to Unlock the Bodycount

The first thing you are going to want to do is to make sure that you complete the main campaign of Dead Island 2. This means going through all 24 Main Quests and completing them. The Bodycount is too powerful of a weapon to be able to get it through your first playthrough.

Cremains of the Day Side Quest and Diaries of the Dead Side Quest

The “Cremains of the Day” Side Quest can be found in Venice Beach tower. Here W.O. Rodriguez will get your started on this Quest. Once you have finished the “Cremains of the Day” Side Quest, you can get started on the “Diaries of the Dead” Side Quest. Both of these Quests aren’t too hard to complete and just require a little bit of time, and a lot of zombie slaying.

REDACTED Lost and Found Side Quest

When you have finished the two Side Quests given to you by W.O. Rodriguez, travel to the Military Barracks in Venice Beach. When you have made it to the Military Barracks in Venice Beach, locate LT. Ford and kill him.  Once he is killed, he will drop a journal with the location of where to find the Bodycount Assault Rifle.

The journal is going to lead you to the burning pit location from where you were when you were completing the “Cremains of the Day” Side Quest. Make your way back to the flaming fire pit and turn right and locate the shipping container number 66. Kill all of the zombies surrounding this container and when it is safe, make your way into shipping container 66. There will be a couple of wooden boxes inside and destroying these boxes will drop the Bodycount Legendary Assault Rifle.

Bodycount Mod

• Superior Ranged Puncturator Mod
  • Converts your weapon to inflict Bleed Damage and gives a major damage boost. Successive hits to a zombie also apply the Bleeding Effect.

Bodycount Perks

• Exit Wound
  • Hitting a zombie gives a chance to deal Bleed Damage to nearby zombies.
• Bloodthirsty
  • Hitting a zombie gives a moderate Damage Boost and generates increased Fury.
• Tactical Reload
  • Killing a zombie gives a moderate Reload Speed Boost.

When you get the chance to use the Bodycount, you will be amazed at how much chaos it will cause. The Mod and Perks that come equipped with this Assault Rifle make it the best weapon that you can use in Dead Island 2. Even though there are a handful of other Unique and Legendary weapons that can be found in Dead Island 2, this one has to be on your list to acquire first.
