Call of Duty: Warzone 2 and Rocket League are two wildly different games. In fact, they share almost no similarities at all. Until now. Call of Duty: Warzone 2 will hosting an all-new event called the Warzone Cup. The Warzone Cup will begin on December 14 and conclude on December 23. December 14 also marks the date of the mid-season update for Call of Duty: Warzone 2 Season One and thus why the Warzone Cup will be beginning this day.

What exactly is the Warzone Cup and how will it work?

The Warzone Cup is eerily similar to Rocket League. In fact, a few weeks ago, it was rumored that a Rocket League inspired game mode would be making its way into Call of Duty. While it seemed weird to think that this would be the case, the time is come to make it a reality.

The Warzone Cup will consist of two teams of three players each, with both of them competing on a soccer field. Instead of using cars like Rocket League uses, players will be riding ATVs as they try and knock an oversized soccer ball into the opposing team’s net.

Each Warzone Cup match will have an eight-minute timer. The first team to score five goals or the most goals in the eight-minute span without reaching the five goals mark, will win the match and be crowned victorious.

The difference between other Call of Duty game modes and the Warzone Cup is that there are no weapons available to use or killstreaks either. Instead, you will have to find other ways to mess with the opposing team. There are a few ways that you will be able to do that. For starters, each ATV is going to be equipped with a pulse ability that will send other players or the ball flying around the arena. There will be a lot of strategy that is involved with using this pulse ability and it will be interesting to see how exactly players use it to their advantage.

There are also a couple of other ways to disrupt the enemy team as well. Similarly, to demoing your opponents in Rocket League, you can do the same in the Warzone Cup. If you ram into your opponent at full speed, you will destroy the enemy ATV. This will not only disable them for a few seconds, but it will also force them to respawn, taking them out of the play temporarily. This will give your team a short little advantage will the other player attempts to get back into the action.

One final way you can mess with your opponents is by finding and picking up Shock Sticks around the soccer stadium. These Shock Sticks can be thrown at the enemies to disable their movement for a short period of time. All of the ways described above are going to be ways to not only give your team the advantage but will also be the key to winning Warzone Cup matches.

If you really want to get into the soccer spirit, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare FC limited time bundles are still available. These bundles are catered to Neymar Jr., Paul Pogba, and Lionel Messi. Any or all three of these bundles can be purchased from the in-game store. If you end up purchasing one of these bundles, you can bring some of the most famous soccer players of all time into the world of Call of Duty: Warzone 2.
