We officially welcomed the start of summer early this week on June 21. While I personally don’t enjoy the heat that comes with the season in south Florida, I do look forward to the next update for Clash of Clans. And it appears that it could be coming sooner rather than later.

Supercell has started to tease the upcoming Summer update, releasing today the balance changes and Quality of Life improvements it will bring.

Perhaps most importantly, the Clan Capital Raid Medal capacity is now correctly capped at 5,000 Raid Medals. Any Raid Medals above that cap are now converted into gems at a rate of 1 gem per 100 Raid Medals.

Now for a bit of (maybe?) bad news, all real life national flags are being removed from the game. It seems that Supercell wants the Clash Universe to remain a fantasy realm and separate from real life references. While certain elements in Clash will draw from real life inspirations, direct copies, like flags, will no longer be featured. If you’ve purchased any flags, you will be refunded.

Now on to the balance changes! Walls are getting nerfed and in a big way too. Certain levels are losing between 1,500 and 2,000 Hit Points. Here’s the new Wal HP:

  • Level 9: 4,000 → 3,500
  • Level 10: 5,500 → 4,000
  • Level 11: 7,000 → 5,000
  • Level 12: 8,500 → 7,000
  • Level 13: 10,000 → 9,000
  • Level 14: 11,500 → 11,000

To match the adjusted Wall HP, the Super Wall Breaker death damage is also going down.

Walls aren’t the only defense getting nerfed. The Archer Tower, X-Bow and Inferno Tower are all getting their DPS reduced. But Red Air Bombs are getting a slight increase to DPS while the Mortar is getting a slight buff to its HP.

It seems this is the start of the Clash of Clans 2022 Summer Update sneak peeks. Tomorrow, we’ll learn of the changes coming to Clan Capital, which were introduced in the Spring update back in May. We don’t know when exactly this update will arrive, but Supercell typically releases a new update each quarter. It sounds like the Summer update is coming in June, which would be a pretty quick release since the Spring update came kind of late.

If the update does come in late June or early July, then it’s possible this will be a rather small one, consisting mostly of balance changes and quality of life improvements like the ones mentioned above. We might get a new Troop or Building, perhaps some new levels or upgrades, but I wouldn’t count on any major features. And it sounds like we’ll have to wait a bit longer for Town Hall 15.
