The Siofra River in Elden Ring is an area that can be explored for many different reasons. There are NPCs, Merchants, Ashes, Upgrade Materials, Farm Materials, Keys, you get the gist of it. There are a lot of different things that can be located here. Interestingly enough, there is also a hidden boss that can be found in this region called the Ancestor Spirit.

The Ancestor Spirit is a large, animated carcass of a deer. It has blue glowing horns and if defeated, will drop 13,000 Runes along with Ancestral Follower Ashes. This is an optional boss, but as long as you travel to the region, you might as well give it a good fight. However, you cannot just walk up to this boss and do battle with it. You must first find and light a total of 8 fire pillars.

While in Siofra River, if you travel to the Siofra River Bank Site of Grace, you will see a very large stairwell with a total of four pillars on each side. If you haven’t found any of the eight pillars yet, none of the pillars will be lit. Each one of the pillars surrounding the staircase represent one of the 8 pillars that you need to find and light.

If you travel up the staircase before you find and light all 8 pillars, you will see the carcass of what looks like a giant deer laying at the end of the staircase. The deer carcass doesn’t do anything yet, but everything will come together once you find and light all 8 of the pillars.

Elden Ring is all about secrets and exploration. There are a lot of different secrets to find and that is one thing that makes Elden Ring so much fun to play. Anytime you are able to seek out and find something legendary or something secret, it is worth going for. Lighting these 8 pillars isn’t going to be the hardest thing that you will encounter in Elden Ring, but they will require exploring the Siofra River region a little bit.

First Pillar

The first pillar is going to be the easiest of them all to find. All you have to do is start at the Siofra River Bank Site of Grace and the first pillar you can light will be directly between this Site of Grace and the Temple. Head over to the obelisk and when you interact with it, it will set the pillar on fire and you will officially be 12.5% of the to lighting all 8 of the pillars.

Second Pillar

From the first pillar, if you look to your left and start heading in that direction, you should notice a giant crab. Go past the giant hostile crab and follow the path up the hill until you can’t go any further. It only takes a quick second to get up the hill as you will be greeted with the second pillar and a dead end. There are spirits guarding this pillar and aren’t afraid to attack players so make sure to be careful and quick when setting this pillar aflame.

Third Pillar

Head back down from the second pillar and instead of taking a right and going past the hostile crab from the way you came, take a left at the bottom of the hill. Once you make a left keep going northeast until you see two flaming podiums that are sitting on the ground. The third pillar is literally right next to these flaming podiums to the left.

Fourth Pillar

Starting from the third pillar, start making your way east. You should be able to see more little flaming podiums on both sides of a path. If you look east from the third pillar, the flaming podiums are lighting up the path to the fourth pillar. Make your way up this path and the fourth pillar will be waiting for you at the top. There will be more spirits guarding this fourth pillar that will not be afraid to fire some electric arrows at you. Try to ignite it as quick as possible so that you can avoid taking any sort of damage!
