There’s no shortage of strategies when it comes to Rune farming in Elden Ring. A simple Google search will yield tons of results. But one area that I found particularly easy and lucrative is in Leyndell, Royal Capital.

This is a mid-game area. I made it here after I defeated Margit the Fell Omen, Godrick the Grafted, Rennala and Starscourge Radahn. It’s also the place you go right before you face Morgott, the Omen King.

So if you’ve made it to Leyndell, Royal Capital but are struggling to defeat Margott or some of the areas after this, like the Forbidden Lands, this is an easy rune farming guide for you.

Your run begins at East Capital Rampart. Run outside and the room and head left where you’ll defeat a series of bubble blowing horn enemies which net you about 350 Runes each. They aren’t very aggressive unless you strike first, giving you an advantage.

After defeating them continue onward and there’s a flame spewing machine at the end. Kill this and you’ll get a whopping 3,000+ Runes. AFter defeating this enemy, you can simply stop here and reset but I usually continue onward.

In the next room is a rogue-type enemy with a crossbow. You can sneak up on him and kill him for an additional 1,200+ Runes. Head down the stairs and to your right is a side balcony where you can kill some more of those horn-bubble blowing enemies.

Then take the lift down. There are numerous enemies along the bridges and in the rooms just sitting there that you can easily kill for 300+ Runes. Keep pressing onward until you get to the room with a staircase and three chandeliers.

This is the hardest part of the run. In the next room are three difficult enemies, one of them wielding a crossbow that has a chance to kill you. You can choose to stop the run before them or try and kill them for some extra XP. If you kill them, you’re looking at an additional 2,500 Runes.

In total, I am able to complete this run in about three minutes and at the end I get about 15,000 Runes. Check out the run below.
