Genshin Impact 2.5 is already on the horizon, but we have some early details for the update after that. Most notably, Kamisato Ayato is finally here after months of teasers. That’s not all, though, so here’s everything we know about Genshin Impact 2.6 from the early previews.

An early look at Genshin Impact 2.6: Release date, new characters

1) Kamisato Ayato

The long awaited and teased Kamisato Ayato will be the headliner for 2.6. We just got a full look at his character design and finally know what Vision he’ll possess: Hydro.

His exact moveset has yet to be revealed, but his character art portrays him brandishing a Hydro sword. I’m expecting a Hydro infusion, and I hope Ayato can be a new Hydro DPS character.

2) The Chasm

A new area is set to release in 2.6: The Chasm. It’s a large quarry/mine-like area where Rex Lapis fought Azhdaha, and will be an extension of Liyue much like Dragonspine is for Mondstadt. Unlike the mountain, The Chasm will go deep into the ground as its name suggests. We’ll be able to explore the mine system, and will be a kind of underground area we’ve yet to see in the game.

3) Ruin Serpent

A new enemy, the Ruin Serpent, can be fought at The Chasm. It looks like it was created by metal and stone already present in the Chasm, and animated with a small ley line branch that serves as the beast’s horn. Unlike previous Ruin type enemies, the Ruin Serpent seems to have come alive suddenly and was not built.

In the preview stream, the Ruin Serpent is spoken about as if it’s a singular entity. We can expect the Ruin Serpent to be a new World Boss, and drop Ascension materials for upcoming characters.
