The Clash Royale Champions update went live on October 27, introducing King Level 14. And with that comes the new “Champions” card rarity. At the time of this update there are three Champions cards: Skeleton King, Archer Queen and Golden Knight. In this article, we are focusing on the Skeleton King.

The Skeleton King costs just 4 Elixir. The King of the Undead, the Skeleton King’s “Soul Summoning” ability allows him to collect the souls of the dead and bring them back to fight for him as skeletons. As the Skeleton King slays enemies, he adds them to his Skeleton count.

All Champion cards are unlocked at Level 11 and are upgraded the same way you upgrade other cards. Here are the Skeleton King’s stats at Level 11:

  • Area damage: 180
  • Hitpoints: 2300
  • Damage Per Second: 112
  • Hit Speed: 1.6 seconds
  • Speed: Medium
  • Targets: Ground
  • Range: Melee (Medium)

Soul Summoning costs 2 Elixir to activate and it has a 20 second cooldown. The Skeleton King will summon a minimum of 6 skeletons and a maximum of 20 at level 11.

As a reminder, only one Champion card can be in your deck at a time and only one Champion can be deployed at a time. This means when you have the Skeleton King deployed, it will stay out of rotation until he is destroyed.

Skeleton King Recommended Decks

When using the Skeleton King, here are some recommended decks:

Master Diddy San

  • Skeleton King
  • Log
  • Bandit
  • Barbarian Barrel
  • PEKKA
  • Magic Archer
  • Electro Wizard
  • Fireball

This is probably my favorite deck as I already primarily use the PEKKA in my main deck. The PEKKA serves as your primary tank and damage dealer while the Electro Wizard gives you some CC. The Fireball and Log can help clear out big groups of enemies.

ClashWithShane

  • Skeleton King
  • Sparky
  • Rage
  • Goblin Giant
  • Zap
  • Minions
  • Mini Pekka
  • Electro Wizard

The Skeleton King and Goblin Giant can tank and focus on the Towers, while Sparky deals massive AOE damage. The Minions with Rage potion can also take down enemy tanks, while Zap can deal with weaker swarms.
