Arriving with the Clash Royale Champions Update is the Golden Knight, a devilishly handsome with decent hitpoints, a fast attack, and luscious blonde locks. The Golden Knight is part of the the new Champions card rarity, which also includes the Skeleton King and Archer Queen.

Champion cards are available at King Level 14, and what makes them unique is their special ability that you can activate once they are placed within the arena. For the Golden Knight, his ability is “Dashing Dash,” which makes him rush towards his enemies and chain attack multiple targets towards the way. In the example video, he cleared an entire pack of goblins and, when timed right, he can even make it towards the tower to deal some extra damage.

The Golden Knight costs 4 Elixir, the same as the Skeleton King and one less than the Archer Queen. However, his Dashing Dash ability costs only 1 Elixir (same as the Archer Queen) and has only an 8 second cooldown. This is probably because he won’t survive for very long as a melee troop, even with his decent health pool

Only one Champion can be placed in your deck. Additionally, you can only deploy one Champion at a time, so if you’ve already got the Golden Knight deployed, he will be removed from your deck until he is defeated.

The Golden Knight, as with the other Champions, starts at level 11 when you unlock him. Here are his stats:

  • Hitpoints: 2000
  • Damage: 160
  • Damage per Second: 177
  • Hit Speed: 0.9 seconds
  • Speed: Medium
  • Range: Melee (Medium)

Dashing Dash: Dashes towards his enemies and chain attacks everything in his path!

  • Dash Distance: 6
  • Dash Damage: 310
  • Max Dashes: 10

Golden Knight recommended decks

  • Golden Knight
  • Hog Rider
  • Cannon
  • Fireball
  • Log
  • Ice Spirit
  • Skeletons
  • Musketeer

This idea of this deck is actually the same as the Archer Queen, only we are replacing the Ice Golem with the Golden Knight and the Archer Queen with the Musketeer. The concept is the same though. The Hog Rider is your primary tower pusher, so you’ll want to place him behind your Golden Knight, who will serve as the meatshield. The Knight’s Dash actually makes him more of a damage dealer than the Ice Golem, giving you more offensive threat in this deck. The Log, Cannon and Fireball give you good defense and swarm clearing capability.
