With the Clash Royale Champions Update, comes the new Champions card rarity. So far, there are three Champions cards in the game: the Archer Queen, Skeleton King and Golden Knight. In this article, we are focusing on the Archer Queen. Anyone who plays Clash of Clans probably familiar with the Archer Queen.

Champions are unique in that they come with a special ability that you can activate when the troop is deployed within the arena. As this is a shared universe with Clash of Clans, the Archer Queen’s ability is “Cloaking Cape,” which activates a stealth mode and allows her to shoot her arrows faster and for more damage.

Another useful tactic is using her Cloaking Cape to stealth and remove aggro. In the example video, she is able to successfully kite a slow-moving PEKKA by dealing damage, removing aggro so he walks more towards the tower, and then finishing him off as he walks towards her again.

The Archer Queen costs 5 Elixir, making her slightly more expensive than the Skeleton King; however, her Cloaking Cape ability costs just one elixir and has only an 11 second cooldown. Unlike the Skeleton King, who is more of a tank, the Archer Queen is a damage dealer, and therefore a bit more fragile.

Here are the Archer Queen’s stats at Level 11:

  • Hitpoints: 1,000
  • Hit Speed: 1.2 seconds
  • Ranged Damage: 225
  • Speed: Medium
  • Range: 5

Cloaking Cape: Activates stealth mode and shooters her arrows faster.

  • Invisibility duration: 3.5 seconds
  • Damage/sec Boost: +200%
  • Damage/sec: 675

Archer Queen Recommended Decks

  • Archer Queen
  • Ice Golem
  • Hog Rider
  • Cannon
  • Log
  • Fireball
  • Ice Spirit
  • Skeleton

This is a pretty straight forward deck. The Archer Queen and her powerful Cloaking ability allows you to easily deal with any tanks. The Hog Rider is your primary tower pusher, placed behind the Ice Golem, or possibly in front of the Archer Queen, who can deal some good damage of her own. Your Ice Golem acts as the meatshield for both the Archer Queen and Hog Rider. The Cannon, Fireball and Log are good defense cards and can also deal with swarms.

As a reminder, you can only have one Champion card in your deck and only one Champion can be placed in the Arena at a time. So if you’ve got an Archer Queen out in the arena, her card will be removed from your deck rotation until she is destroyed.
