Is Pokemon Unite coming to PS5 or PS4?
The Pokemon Company’s Pokemon Unite launched today on mobile devices. The “free-to-start” MOBA title — which released on Nintendo Switch over the summer — is now available on the App Store and Google Play for iOS and Android devices. That already covers a pretty large audience, but there’s still tons of gamers on PlayStation hoping to play the game.
Will Pokemon Unite release on PS5 or PS4?
As of this writing, Pokemon Unite has not been announced for release on either PS5 or PS4. This shouldn’t come as a surprise either as Pokemon is one of Nintendo’s biggest exclusive franchises.
To date, there have been no Pokemon games released on PlayStation and that probably won’t change with Pokemon Unite either.
The only places you can actually play Pokemon Unite right now is Nintendo Switch and Android and iOS smart devices. It will likely stay that way.
Thankfully, most gamers today probably own a mobile device capable of playing Pokemon Unite, or a Nintendo Switch.
We had a chance to review Pokemon Unite upon release for the Nintendo Switch. The Pokemon-themed MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) was a pleasant surprise — enjoyable, even if you aren’t a huge fan of competitive MOBA-style games. It’s easy to pick up and play, and the cute visuals, unlockables and variety of playstyles keep matches feeling fresh.
If you’re looking to scratch that MOBA itch on console, there are a few games available on PS4 and PS5. Smite and Awesomenauts Assemble! are probably the two most well-known games.
And then there’s League of Legends: Wild Rift from Riot Games. This game is currently only available on mobile devices, but Riot does have plans to eventually bring the game to consoles. We assume this means PlayStation, but nothing official has been announced.
