Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One new game releases in September 2021
While the first half of 2021 was, quite frankly, a disappointment for the Xbox Series X, things have picked up quite a bit for Microsoft’s newest console. Following E3, Microsoft has been on a roll with the new games, many of which come to the console as part of Xbox Games Pass which means you don’t actually have to pay for them. Heck, in September alone, we’re getting eight games on Xbox Series X via Xbox Game Pass.

It’s worth noting that there are no games on this list specifically for Xbox Series X|S only. So even if a game is only coming to Xbox One, you should be able to play it on the Series X|S as well.
The biggest game on this list is probably Diablo II: Resurrected, a complete remaster of Blizzard’s classic action-RPG. The cool thing about this remaster is that it’s only the game’s graphics and network functions that have been updated. The game systems remain true to the original, although obviously adjusted for the console. I was a huge fan of the original Diablo II, but after experiencing the Open Beta, I’ve come to realize that I’ve become spoiled by today’s games. I just couldn’t get myself back in the mindset of these original gameplay mechanics.
For basketball fans, the newest edition of NBA 2K is coming this month. While the Xbox Series X|S version has its obvious advantages in terms of enhanced graphics and expanded game modes, 2K has assured fans that both generations of NBA 2K22 have received major gameplay upgrades.
