MLB The Show 21 adds baseball’s iconic Field of Dreams stadium
“If you build it, he will come.”
That’s the line from the great movie Field of Dreams, starring Kevin Costner. And after Major League Baseball actually went out to a cornfield and Iowa and built the iconic Field of Dreams stadium, you can now play in it in MLB The Show 21. The field was added as part of a free update this week.
With tickets to the single game between the New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox costing thousands of dollars, MLB The Show 21 is probably the closest many of us will be able to get to actually visiting this majestic ballpark.
On the PlayStation Blog, Sony San Diego Studios details the lengthy development process they went through in order to create a replica of the stadium. And when it’s all said and done, it looks pretty darn close to the real thing — at least from what I saw on television.

From the rows of corn (159 acres surrounding the field) to the stadium’s dimensions (335 feet down the left and right field lines and 400 feet to center) to the barn wood scoreboard in right field, MLB The Show 21’s in-game stadium design is a faithful replica of the real life stadium which is, in turn, faithful to to the field in the movie.
So after watching the thrilling game between the Yankees and White Sox, which ended in dramatic fashion on a walk off home run in the bottom of the ninth, you can now host your own game on the magical Field of Dreams.
The Field of Dreams stadium is now available on all platforms (PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 and Xbox One). This is also a good time to mention that MLB The Show 21 on next-gen consoles features the franchise’s first ever stadium creator.
