Grand Theft Auto is a franchise that’s been around for a while now and while there have been rumors buzzing around mostly regarding GTA 6 and when that will hit the shelves, a new report just popped up today. Kotaku reports that a Grand Theft Auto Remastered Trilogy is in the works, and it will feature Grand Theft Auto 3, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

Let that all soak in for a couple seconds. Those are three games that paved the way for GTA franchise. Without the success of those three games, there might not have been any rumors of a GTA 6 today. Given GTA IV and GTA V had a lot to do with GTA 6 rumors, but those early classics played a major role in the franchises success as well.

It is unclear on how much this trilogy bundle will cost, but Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas makes buying this trilogy worth it all by itself. Roaming the streets of San Andreas with all the PlayStation 2 mods were some of the most fun memories. Flying cars, having infinite health, and getting any weapons that you wanted opened up some pretty wild moments. The mods weren’t just the only reason GTA: San Andreas was so much fun, but the game also had an amazing storyline as well.

Grand Theft Auto: 3 and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City are also two childhood favorites. The games will be remastered in the Unreal Engine, but will feature a mix of old and new graphics, according to the report.

A remastered version of these games were previously rumored, but now it seems like it is actually happening. Kotaku reports that the trilogy is set to launch later this year and will be available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, PC, Stadia, mobile devices, and even the Nintendo Switch. You can basically play this trilogy on anything you have so if this report turns out to be true, this can be a massive selling success for Rockstar Games.
