Diablo 2: Resurrected release date, early access and beta
Diablo 2: Resurrected, a complete remaster of one of the most beloved action RPGs of all-time, is set to launch on September 23. But before its highly anticipated arrival, Blizzard is giving players a chance to jump into the upcoming beta and experience the improvements first-hand.
The open beta for Diablo 2: Resurrected runs from August 20 through August 22; however, there’s an early access beta kicking off this week. Those who pre-purchase Diablo 2: Resurrected or Diablo Prime Evil Collection on PC or consoles can gain access to the early access beta which kicks off on August 13 at 10:00 a.m. PDT. The early access test runs through August 17 at 10:00 a.m. PDT. Pre-loading will begin on August 11.
Then, on August 20 at 10:00 a.m. PDT, the open beta weekend will begin for everyone, across all platforms (Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4 and PC). The open beta has no restrictions as to who can participate and will run until August 23 at 10:00 a.m. PDT.

While Xbox Live Gold is required to play during Early Access, it is not required during the open beta period. PlayStation Plus is not required for either Early Access or Open Beta, but is required if you wish to play multiplayer.
Although Diablo 2: Resurrected is also launching on Nintendo Switch, there is no Open Beta planned for the console. As an incentive to preorder on the console, Blizzard is offering the Heritage of Arreat transmog for Diablo 3.
During the beta, only five of the seven classes will be available to play: the Amazon, Barbarian, Sorceress, Druid and Paladin. The Necromancer and Assassin won’t be playable until launch. Diablo 2: Resurrected is a full-fledged remaster of the original game and will launch with the full narrative experience, but only Act I and Act II are playable in the beta. Additionally, any progression from Early Access or Open Beta will be wiped before the full game releases.
