PS Now August 2021: Nier Automata, Undertale and Ghostrunner coming
On August 3, PlayStation Now (PS Now) will be updated with three new games joining the streaming service. The three games differ quite a bit in style and gameplay, but all three offer a thrilling experience in their own right.
Nier: Automata
Nier: Automata is probably the biggest of the three games coming to PS Now. The 2017 action role-playing game from PlatinumGames offers a compelling sci-fi story and fast-paced hack and slash combat as you defend your home from alien-created machine invaders. In the game. What’s neat about this game is that it requires multiple playthroughs to complete the story, as each run unlocks additional elements.
Ghostrunner
Developed by One More Level, Ghostrunner is a parkour-infused action platformer. Set in a dystopian future where humanity lives in a massive skyscraper known as Dharma Tower, you play as Jack, a Ghostrunner, and must battle your way to the top of this megastructure. Ghostrunner combines intense action combat with fast-paced mobility, emphasizing one-hit, one-kill mechanics that apply to not only the enemies you encounter but for you as well.
Undertale

Of the three games, Undertale is probably the one I’m most excited to see join PS Now. Undertale was nominated for numerous awards back in 2016, including RPG of the Year, Best Indie, Best Games for Change, and many more. It didn’t win many of these awards, but the glowing reviews and critical acclaim speaks for themselves.
Undertale is a role-playing game played with a top-down perspective. In the game, you control a child that has fallen into an underground world filled with monsters. As you make your way back to the surface, you’ll be tasked with solving puzzles. While many of the monsters you encounter will challenge you to combat, you don’t actually have to fight or kill them. Every monster you encounter can be defeated nonviolently; fight, flee or befriend them, the decisions you make will affect how the story unfolds and the game progresses.
All three of these games will be available on PS Now starting on Tuesday, August 3. Of the three, only Nier: Automata is dated for how long it will be available until (Monday, November 1, 2021). Which game are you most looking forward to playing?
