Back 4 Blood Open Beta dates, early access and details
Back 4 Blood is set to release in October, but an open beta for the game is slated to go live in August. The open beta will give player a chance to experience the adrenaline-inducing, heart-pumping action of the cooperative first-person shooter.
Developed by Turtle Rock Studios, Back 4 Blood is essentially a spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead. You see, Turtle Rock Studios are the creators of the original Left 4 Dead, but Vlave still owns the rights to the franchise, so Left 4 Dead is the studio’s way of getting around that.
In Back 4 Blood, you play can play through a four-player cooperative campaign or engage in 8-player PvP — with the general premise involve zombie-like, infested creatures. It’s quite similar to Left 4 Dead, although Back 4 Blood has a new feature that involves players building starting each level with a deck of cards that can adjust various gameplay elements and add modifiers.

Back 4 Blood Open Beta dates and platforms
The Back 4 Blood Open Beta runs from August 12 (Noon PST) to August 16 (Noon PST). The Open Beta will be available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and PC and will have cross-gen and cross-play support. Pre-ordering is not required to participate.
Back 4 Blood: How to get Early Access to the Open Beta
If you want to get in on the action early, you can register for a chance to get an invite into the Early Access period. Early Access takes place a week before and runs from August 5 (Noon PST) to August 9 (Noon PST). Alternatively, you can pre-order Back 4 Blood and guarantee an invite to Early Access. You can also hope to earn a Back 4 Blood early Access code through Twitch Drops, which involves watching a Twitch streamer playing Back 4 Blood content with Twitch Drops enabled for at least 60 minutes.

What’s included in the Back 4 Blood Open Beta?
The Open Beta will provide two PvE campaign maps and two PvP Swarm Mode maps. There will be five playable Cleaners (the group of survivors who fight off zombies), 6 playable Ridden (infected) and access to the Fort Hope communal hub. All weapons and gear will be available as well.

Back 4 Blood Release Date
Back 4 Blood will launch on October 12, 2021 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC. It will be an Xbox Game Pass Launch Day title, meaning anyone who is a Game Pass subscriber can play it on day one for free.
