Fan-favorite PlayStation character Aloy is headed to Genshin Impact. Developer miHoYo announced the surprise collaboration with Guerrilla Games on Twitter this morning, confirming Nora Huntress’s arrival in the game.

Aloy is being referred to as the “Savior From Another World” in Genshin Impact, and will be available for free on PS4 and PS5 with Version 2.1 update which is scheduled for September 1, 2021. Any Travelers who are Adventure Rank 20 or above will be able to obtain her for free directly through in-game mail until October 13.

She’ll also arrive on PC and mobile during update 2.2 which is scheduled for October 13. She’ll also be free for Adventure Rank 20 and can be claimed until November 24.

Aloy enters Genshin Impact as a five-star Cryo archer. Her abilities revolve around using Coils, which are heavily inspired by her capabilities in Horizon Zero Dawn. She will also come with a special, four-star Predator bow that anyone over Adventure Rank 20 can claim. Although the Predator bow can be used on any platform, the weapon’s effect, Strong Strike, only applies when playing on PlayStation.

"“Dealing Cryo DMG to opponents increases this character’s Normal and Charged Attack DMG by 10% for 6s. This effect can have a maximum of 2 stacks. Additionally, when Aloy equips Predator, ATK is increased by 66.”"

The bio for “Savior From Another World” is basically a recap of Aloy’s adventures in Horizon Zero Dawn. Funny enough, I actually just got done playing that game for the first time.

Released in 2017, Horizon Zero Dawn quickly became a top PlayStation title, achieving critical and commercial success. While I did have some nitpicks — like the way the overall story was presented — it was a fun game and enjoyable overall.

The collaboration between miHoYo and Guerrilla Games/Sony might seem a little out of left field, but it actually makes a ton of sense. The free-to-play Genshin Impact has been a massive success on PlayStation and Horizon Zero Dawn is one of PlayStation’s most popular games. Naturally, it makes sense for Aloy, who has become an incredibly popular mascot for Sony, to be featured in Genshin Impact.

Funny enough, this isn’t even the first collaboration to feature Aloy. Monster Hunter World recently ran an event where players could collect Aloy’s bow and full armor set as well as and Palico armor that could make the Palico look like a machine from Horizon Zero Dawn.
