NHL 22: What you should expect from the Seattle Kraken
The Seattle Kraken will be making their NHL debut in the 2021-2022 season. Residents of Seattle are going to have an extra activity on their to do list this year as hockey is making its way to the state of Washington. This is not only a very exciting time for people who live in Seattle, but it is exciting for fans of the NHL as well. As a fan of the NHL myself, I cannot wait to see what the Seattle Kraken have to offer in their inaugural season. With the addition of the 32nd NHL team, that also means that NHL 22 will feature the Seattle Kraken as a playable team in the game as well.
Before the Seattle Kraken can officially make their way into the NHL and NHL 22 they first need to go through the expansion draft. The Seattle Kraken expansion draft is set to take place on July 21, 2021. On this day, the Kraken will start to fill up their roster and build up their history in the NHL. After the expansion draft is officially over we can get a much better picture as to how the Seattle Kraken will do fresh out of the gate and how their team will be in NHL 22.

The Seattle Kraken might be a hot commodity in NHL 22 just for them being new in the game. However, they most likely will be the worst rated team in the game. The Seattle Kraken’s expectation for NHL 22 will be extremely low. They will have a mediocre rated offense, defense, and goaltending. It has nothing to do with the quality of players that are taking because they may indeed get some decent player right off the bat, but who knows how well their chemistry will be right away.
The Vegas Golden Knights were a one-of-a-kind expansion team and no one expected them to make it to the playoffs, let alone the Stanley Cup Final, in their inaugural season. The Seattle Kraken will definitely be a lot different than the Golden Knights, but the way the expansion draft is set up in the NHL, you never know what to expect from them either.

It will be interesting to see what players head over to Seattle on July 21, 2021. After the draft we might have a tiny but understanding on what their NHL 22 rating will be, but no matter who they draft they will have very high chance of being the worst rated team in the game. The Kraken will definitely be a team to play as in NHL 22 just for fun. If you are playing the game competitively, they are definitely going to be a team you want to stay away from. Expectations for the Seattle Kraken should not be too high, but then again, I guess anything is possible.
