We finally have a bit more insight on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2. Nintendo had their E3 Nintendo Direct today and had fans on the edge of their seats through the whole show. It was rumored that we would get a little sneak peak on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel at the Nintendo E3 Direct and boy were those rumors right.

At the end of the show, Eiji Aonuma (producer and product manager for The Legend of Zelda video games) left us all with a massive surprise. He left us with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 trailer.

The first Breath of the Wild video game was a masterpiece of a game and some people even say it is one of the best video games that they have ever played and with good reason. It will of course be hard to create a sequel to a game that did so well and try to replicate its success, but there is huge potential on the table.

Nintendo knows how to handle The Legend of Zelda franchise. It is one of the most popular video game series of all time. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 has the potential to be a better video game from the original.

As seen towards the end of the trailer, we get a glimpse of the Hyrule Castle. This was an interesting part of the trailer because who knows how the Hyrule Castle will play into The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 storyline. Nintendo also confirmed that the Hyrule skies will be explorable, but they didn’t give any information as to how explorable they would be or what kind of things would be lurking in the skies.

Eiji Aonuma also stated that the game has been steadily progressing and that they are targeting a 2022 release date. No official launch date was announced, but we can expect for the games release sometime in 2022.

This was a perfect way to end the E3 Nintendo Direct. A game that everyone has been talking about and has been waiting for. If you have not gotten the chance to play the original Breath of the Wild video game, I highly suggest doing so before the release of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2.
