Madden 21 Ultimate Team adds Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson, other top draft picks
The 2021 NFL Draft kicked off yesterday with a first-round filled with exciting picks, some head-scratching moves, and lots of surprises.
The Jacksonville Jaguars selecting former Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence with the No. 1 overall pick was a no-brainer. But what would happen with the subsequent picks was anybody’s guess. BYU’s Zach Wilson was selected by the New York Jets with the No. 2 overall pick, while the San Francisco 49ers found their future quarterback in North Dakota State’s Trey Lance.
These players are going to be the future of their respective teams but fans won’t have to wait until Madden 22 releases to play as them. In celebration of the NFL Draft, EA has already added Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson and Trey Lance in Madden 21. All three are playable in Madden Ultimate Team. Here’s how their stats compare:

While Trevor Lawrence is the highest-rated player of the trio of quarterbacks, each has their specialty. In addition to these three, EA has also added other first-round picks from the 2021 NFL Draft. Kyle Pitts (TE), Ja’Marr Chase (WR), Jaylen Waddle (WR), Pensei Sewell (LT), Jaycee Horn (CB), Patrick Surtain II (CB) and DeVonta Smith (WR) have all been revealed for Madden 21 Ultimate Team by EA. Each of them has a 98 MUT rating.
Presumably, the remaining first-round draft picks will also be added to Madden 21 Ultimate, especially those drafted just outside of the top 10. Justin Fields, who dropped out of the top ten before the Bears traded up to select him at No. 11, is not yet revealed for MUT. Mac Jones, who was selected by the New England Patriots at No. 15, was also not revealed.
EA chose not to announce Madden 22 on the first night of the NFL Draft, but it’s possible they could still reveal it at some point this week. Or maybe they make us wait a little while longer before revealing this year’s cover athlete.
