The second demo for Resident Evil Village is coming today, April 24. In case you missed the previous announcement, Capcom is hosting three limited-time demo events for its upcoming horror game.

The first demo opportunity happened last weekend and was exclusive to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation. It gave players 30 minutes to play through a portion of what was referred to as the “Village.” It was only available to play for a few hours, so if you missed it, you’ll have to read our review.

Today, the second of the three planned demos will become available. This demo is also exclusive to the PlayStation community and will offer another 30-minute slice of the game.

This time, players will explore the halls of Castle Dimitrescu and it sounds like it will be a much different experience than the previous Village demo. Here’s the teaser Resident Evil Village producer Tsuyoshi Kanda offered:

"When you first step into the castle, you may immediately feel the contrast between the decrepit village of the first early access experience to its regal interior. One of the major motifs of this area, and the game in general, was creating environments filled with beauty. When players aren’t running for their lives, we wanted to create a setting that they could enjoy by venturing through and slowly taking in all the sights and scenes. Of course, every picture of beauty hides a face of terror. Players may also find themselves beneath the splendor in an underground prison, tiptoeing past cold cellar bars that offer a sharp juxtaposition to the warmth found up above."

It sounds like the corridors will be tighter and the halls will be more narrow, creating a sense of claustrophobia. I wonder how Lady Dimitrescu will squeeze her dump truck through.

Kanda goes on to talk about what the team learned from Resident Evil 7 biohazard in terms of creating environments for Resident Evil Village, so if you’re interested check out his brief post on the PlayStation Blog. Or just wait and surprise yourself by hopping into the Castle Demo tonight when it becomes available.

The Castle Demo will be available from April 24 starting at 5:00 p.m. (Pacific Time). It will run until April 25 at 1:00 a.m (Pacific Time).

If you missed the previous demo and don’t have the chance to play this one, you’re not completely out of luck. Capcom will host a third demo opportunity that will be available on all platforms. On May 1st, a 60-minute demo will unlock, giving players a full hour to explore both the village and the castle. This demo will be available for players on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Steam and Stadia.

Be sure to check back after the demo goes live for our impressions of the Castle and the wonderful Lady Dimitrescu. I can’t wait to see how horny the internet gets after seeing her again in this demo.
